Robyn and Jared's Sacramento Courthouse Wedding
Some of the best weddings don't need a huge venue or a year of planning. Robyn and Jared's courthouse wedding at the Sacramento County Clerk Recorder Main Office proved that. In just two and a half hours, their day was packed with love, joy, and a lot of happy tears.
A 9 AM Courthouse Wedding Full of Nerves and Excitement
Robyn and Jared's appointment was at 9 AM, and you could feel the energy the moment they walked in. They were excited, a little nervous, and so ready to marry each other. From the start, they told us they wanted every moment documented. Not just the big ones, but the small in-between moments too. The deep breaths, the hand squeezes, the looks across the room.
That's exactly what we love to capture.
Family From Near and Far
One of the most special parts of their day was how many people showed up for them. Family traveled from all over to be there in person. And one brother who was overseas didn't miss it either. He joined on FaceTime so he could watch his sibling say "I do" live. Seeing the family gather around the phone to include him was one of our favorite moments of the day.
The ceremony itself was short and sweet, the way courthouse weddings usually are. But short doesn't mean less meaningful. Every word, every smile, and that first kiss as a married couple carried just as much weight as any big wedding.
Right after the ceremony, we spent about 10 minutes doing creative portraits inside the building. A lot of couples don't realize how much you can do in a courthouse setting. With the right light and angles, we turned simple hallways and architecture into a beautiful backdrop for their first portraits as newlyweds.
Family Portraits at the Leland Stanford Mansion
From there, we headed to the Leland Stanford Mansion for family portraits. With so many loved ones there who had traveled to celebrate, we made sure everyone got their moment in front of the camera. The historic setting gave their family photos a timeless feel they'll be able to look back on for years.
Ending Their Elopement Session With Couple's Portraits
We wrapped up their elopement session with 15 minutes of couple's portraits. This was their time to slow down, breathe, and just be together after a busy, emotional morning. Those last few minutes gave us some of our favorite images of the whole day.
In just 2.5 hours, we captured so much of what makes a wedding day special. The nerves before the ceremony, the family who showed up from everywhere, the brother watching from across the world, and the quiet moments between two people starting their life together.
